Stuart Knott recognizes that for most business owners, selling the company they have built is one of their most important life decisions. “I get tremendous satisfaction from working with business owners, guiding them through the process, and helping them achieve their goals,” he says.
Stuart brings a unique and valued perspective to CCA based on 20 years’ experience in the middle market as both an investment banker and a private equity (PE) investor. As a previous principal investor, he knows first-hand what they seek in a target company, and he uses that knowledge in advising founders through a successful sale process.
Building strong relationships is one of Stuart’s strongest suits. “I enjoy helping my clients through the day to day challenges of an M&A transaction,” he explains. “By focusing on the end goal and not losing sight of the forest for the trees, I work hard to guide them to close successful transactions that meet their goals.”
Known for his resourcefulness and work ethic, Stuart appreciates CCA’s collegial atmosphere and the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of like-minded professionals. He previously held senior-level roles with a regional PE firm and served as a vice president with KPMG Corporate Finance, a middle market-focused investment bank. Stuart holds an MBA with a finance concentration from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
On the personal side:
When Stuart isn’t busy helping business owners plan for their next phase, you’ll find him relaxing with a fishing pole in hand or perfecting his cooking skills. He especially loves to barbecue and is always coming up with new creations for his smoker. Although on Sundays, one of the first orders of business is completing the New York Times crossword puzzle. Married with three sons, Stuart was born and raised in Baltimore.
